Vandenberg Space Force Base Child Development Center offers a curriculum with the goal of building a basic positive foundation for education in math, science, literacy, and the arts. The program also focuses on encouraging age-appropriate social and emotional development for enrolled children.

• Schedule: Open Monday–Friday, 0700–1700; closed Saturday, Sunday, and federal holidays
The center is Department of Defense certified and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Its stated mission is to offer a curriculum with the goal of building a basic positive foundation for education in math, science, literacy, and the arts while encouraging age-appropriate social and emotional development. Parents are always welcome to visit and assist with their child’s care to the extent that their duty permits.
The program offers “Give Parents a Break” and “Parents Night Out” options. Parents at Vandenberg have a way to sublet childcare at the center through the Kinderspot app. The Parent Advisory Board and other parent committees are part of all Child Development Center programs in conjunction with other Child and Youth Programs. The Parent Advisory Board meets with the Airman and Family Readiness Center Flight Chief and Center Directors at least quarterly and with the Mission Support Group Commander at least annually, and the minutes of these meetings are forwarded to the Mission Support Group Commander for review. The Parent Advisory Committee selects a chairperson, and each chairperson attends the Program Parent Advisory Board meeting. The Chairperson of the Developmental Advisory Board is a parent, and the board acts in an advisory capacity by providing recommendations for improving services.
