About
Youth Programs offers daily activities that include leadership clubs, homework help, STEM projects, citizenship and community service projects, and health and life skills sessions. Participants can use a music room, an art and tech lab, and a Teen room, and can play basketball or volleyball in the gym. The program also offers before-school care, after-school care, summer day camp programs, and a range of classes such as recreational and competitive gymnastics, theater, music, art, and vocal training, along with youth sports like soccer, basketball, baseball, and track and field.

Youth Programs states that its mission is to support Department of Defense military and civilian personnel in achieving a better work-life balance by offering a system of high-quality, accessible, and affordable programs and services for children and youth from 5 to 18 years old, in order to address the challenges of balancing mission requirements with family responsibilities. The program’s daily schedule includes activities in five core areas: character and leadership, education and career, health and life skills, the arts, and youth sports and fitness. The School-Age Care program offers before- and after-school care and summer day camp programs for children ages 5–12 years and uses curriculum from 4H and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, with registration required annually through militarychildcare.com. The Recreational and Competitive Gymnastics Program is open to youth ages 3–18, with levels ranging from Pre-School, Beginners, Advanced Beginners, and Hot Shots (advanced gymnastics for ages 4–5 with instructor evaluation) through JO Levels 2–7 and Xcel Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Youth Sports and Fitness Programs offer four sports seasons and a variety of clinics and camps throughout the year, including soccer, basketball, baseball, and track and field.
Youth Programs offers Open Recreation for ages 10–18, and states that children 9 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The program is affiliated with both the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and 4H. Parents are always welcome to visit and assist with their child’s care to the extent that their duty permits. A Parent Advisory Board, whose chairperson is a parent, meets at least quarterly with the Airman and Family Readiness Center Flight Chief and Center Directors and at least annually with the Mission Support Group Commander, and acts in an advisory capacity by providing recommendations for improving services.
