Naz Sports began in 2001 as a common vision of eight people and is described as an instructional sports ministry. It operates under the non-profit corporation Valley Community Outreach (VCO) and is part of Visalia Naz’s community outreach program. The program serves over two thousand children over the course of a year, with an emphasis on teaching children about Christ and on developing children’s physical and emotional skills in a safe environment. Its stated mission is “Serving Families, One Game At A Time!” The leadership team includes Director Dee Flynn, Office Admin Kim Nickell, and Grounds Keeper Mike Freitas. The team that started Naz Sports also began the non-profit corporation of Valley Community Outreach, which remains the umbrella organization under which Naz Sports operates, and its stated prayers are to continue reaching nearby rural communities of Tulare County through sports and other activities.
