Visalia Junior Golf Academy has junior golfers practice fundamentals each Saturday at Valley Oaks Golf Course and play each week at the same course. On days when they play the course, kids are paired according to their age and skill level. The Academy also travels to various regional golf courses, including Monterey, the Central Coast, and Fresno, and parents are invited to play on these trips.
• Ages: 8–16 years old
• Schedule: Fundamentals practice on Saturdays and one additional weekly play day that varies by season; a six-month commitment is requested with an initial one-month trial available
• Price: $150 per month (October 2025) including range balls and coaching, plus a discounted $5.00 green fee for Youth on Course members each time they play the course
Visalia Junior Golf Academy is starting its fifth season and is accepting new participants for 2025–26. Junior golfers are expected to have a strong interest in golf and be able to interact with minimal supervision for up to ninety minutes. Generally, participants eight years and older are accepted, and some younger than eight may be considered. On Saturdays, there are three separate classes for elementary age, junior high, and high school participants. The Academy embraces kids of all skill levels, and kids are encouraged to join Youth on Course. Families can find Visalia Junior Golf Academy on Facebook and Instagram.
Head Coach and Administrator Tom Ringer, P.G.A., is a thirty-eight-year member of the PGA of America and was a member of an NCAA All American Golf Team. Valley Oaks Golf Course, the home course of the Academy, is recognized for Environmental Excellence by Audubon International.
