About
Visalia Junior Golf Academy has kids practice fundamentals, play the course, and travel to various regional golf courses such as Monterey, the Central Coast, and Fresno. On days when they play the course, kids are paired according to their age and skill level. The Academy accepts junior golfers who have a strong interest in golf, can interact with minimal supervision for up to ninety minutes, and want to make a significant investment of time to improve their golf skills, and it embraces kids of all skill levels with interest in golf as the only requirement.
• Ages: 8–16 years old
• Schedule: Fundamentals practice each Saturday and one course-play day each week that shifts seasonally (weekday mornings in summer, Friday afternoons in fall, Sunday afternoons in winter and spring)
• Price: Tuition is $150 per month (as of October 2025), which covers range balls and coaching, plus a discounted $5.00 green fee for Youth on Course members each time they play the course
On Saturdays, the program offers three separate classes for elementary age, junior high, and high school participants. The Academy is starting its fifth season and is accepting new participants for 2025–26. A six-month commitment is requested, with an initial one-month trial available.
The program is led by Head Coach and Administrator Tom Ringer, a thirty-eight-year member of the PGA of America and a former NCAA All American Golf Team member.
