About

San Elijo AYSO Region 1505 Soccer Programs offer youth soccer, including Fall and Spring leagues, a KickStart program, and the AYSO EPIC league. Players take part in organized soccer activities that follow the six AYSO philosophies: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development.

• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: The Fall league runs from July through November (excluding major holidays), the Spring “Turbo” Soccer league runs during March, April, and May (excluding major holidays), the KickStart program runs from September through November in the Fall and March through May in the Spring, and the AYSO EPIC league runs in conjunction with the Fall and Spring seasons.

San Elijo AYSO Region 1505 was formed in 2005, starting with approximately 175 players and now serving over 600 kids. The region serves the needs of the San Elijo Hills, Old Creek Ranch, San Marcos, and surrounding communities such as Bressi Ranch and La Costa. The stated mission is providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives. Programs are 100% volunteer run and supported, with volunteers trained by the Safe Haven program, which involves an application and screening process that reduces the likelihood of abuses occurring while kids are participating in soccer. Coaches receive training and certification through age-specific courses that can meet the coach's needs regardless of their level of experience, and supplemental local instruction programs, camps, and clinics are offered throughout the year and are free of charge to volunteers and to the kids participating in the programs.

The Fall league is the Core program and is the largest program. The Spring “Turbo” Soccer league focuses on fun and exercise and not competition, while the Spring “Select” Program offers a higher level of competition, with players chosen through a selective process and requiring a greater commitment from both players and parents. KickStart is designed for the specific needs of 3 and 4 year old kids and involves parent participation to help ease the child into a group sport environment. The AYSO EPIC (Everyone Plays in Our Community) league is designed for individuals whose physical or mental disabilities make it difficult for them to successfully participate on mainstream soccer teams. Kelly O’Donnell serves as the Region 1505 Commissioner and is described as the overall lead for the region.
