Vista's Best Summer Camp is part of North County Self Defense Summer Camp and has been in business for over 28 years. The camp uses age-appropriate groups for all campers and offers weekly themes and what it describes as “100's of Activities.” The program limits the number of campers enrolled, offers online registration and affordable payment plans, and notes that it is the “most affordable camp in the area.” Parents can visit a Facebook group for photos and updates.

The leadership and staff team includes Shihan Moss, who oversees and instructs the summer camp, along with Mr. Moss, Mr. Pulse, Ms. Alyx, Mrs. Moss, and Mr. Ellis. All staff have background checks, and staff hold professional-level CPR and first aid credentials. Parent comments describe the counselors and staff as excellent, patient, kind, professional, and “top notch,” and mention that they “keep the kids active with games like dodgeball, gaga, karate classes, swim club and weekly themes.”

In testimonials, one parent, Jessica R., reports that her son loved the camp and that she felt confident enrolling him based on her experience with North County Self Defense. She notes that classes focus on character building and age-appropriate self defense, and that during the week campers had karate classes, played games, made a movie, and went on several field trips. Another parent reports that their three children “LOVE IT,” come home each day with something new to share, and have requested to return next summer. Multiple parents state that their children did not want to leave at pickup, enjoyed going every day, and did not get bored because activities changed so it was not the same thing every day.
