Sparta Taekwondo

Sparta Taekwondo offers Taekwondo and martial arts classes that include a structured curriculum and belt progression. The program includes a Tiny Titans program, a Juniors program, an Adults program, and an elite sparring team called Team Sparta for students who are Yellow Belt and above.

• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Trial times Monday–Thursday from 2:30–3:00 PM and 8:00–8:30 PM, with regular working hours Monday–Thursday 3:30–8:00 PM, Friday 5:00–8:00 PM, and Saturday 9:00 AM–1:00 PM; Tiny Titans classes are 30 minutes, Juniors sessions are 45 minutes, and Adults classes are 1 hour, with a 30-minute intro lesson and 2 weeks of unlimited classes in the starter package

Sparta Taekwondo was founded in 2004 and has been Kukkiwon-certified since 2004, with over 20 years of operation and more than 1,000 students developed and 150+ active families. All instructors are Kukkiwon-certified, and several coaches competed nationally and internationally before teaching at the program. The leadership team includes Master Geoffrey Uy (Head Instructor), Master Diane Hoh (Master Instructor), Master Tshomlee Go (Master Instructor and Team Sparta Coach), Master Garth Andrews (Master Instructor), Master Jason Lee (Assistant Team Sparta Coach), Master Alice Liau (Assistant Team Sparta Coach), and multiple Senior and Assistant Instructors from the Uy family. The program teaches both Taegeuk and Palgwae poomsae sets and offers Team Sparta, an elite sparring team whose members medal at state, national, and international tournaments.

The program’s stated mission is to produce champions in life as well as in the ring, using a challenging curriculum in a supportive, family-oriented environment. Classes intentionally integrate the five tenets of Taekwondo: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit, and the program states that it does not operate as a “belt factory,” with belts earned over years of consistent work. Sparta Taekwondo describes Taekwondo as a success system for building great character and emphasizes small tests of focus, respect, and grit in each session.

Sparta Taekwondo offers a starter package where families bring only the student for the 2-week trial, and the included full Taekwondo uniform is theirs to keep even if they do not continue. After the trial, enrollment is month-to-month with no long-term contract, and the program states there is no hard sell at the end of the trial. A Summer Special offers 25% off the first 3 months.
