Designer Camp is a week-long intensive camp where students take part in hands-on workshops, behind-the-scenes tours of studios and galleries, and tours of showrooms, retail stores, design houses, and businesses that are shaping the design industry. The program includes mentoring from design industry professionals and staff, a culminating design project, and creating a design portfolio that students present to parents and the local design community. Students explore the LA design world through areas such as Art, Beauty, Branding, Fashion, Interior Design, Merchandising, Photography, Styling, Trend Forecasting, Event Design, Furniture Design, Home Staging, Hospitality Design, Interior Styling, Prop Styling, Set Design, Textile Design, Design, Draping, Fashion Sketching, Fashion Styling, Merchandising/Branding, and Product Development, along with Photography 101 topics like camera basics, lighting, photoshoots, portrait, product, fashion, and street photography, plus Social Media and careers in branding in the beauty industry, makeup design, hairstyling, beauty sales, and marketing.

Designer Camp is described as a leading collaborative, design-based summer camp for young creatives ages 11–17, with boutique programs featuring partnerships with nationally recognized designers and brands and a focus on collaboration over competition. The program offers week-long intensive camps in specific design fields including Interior Design, Fashion & Styling, Photography, and the Beauty Industry, with Photography Camp offered in partnership with Leica Akademie USA and Beauty Camp led by top beauty professionals. The Designer Camp Team is made up of design and educational professionals, and the founder is Kristen Dees.

Designer Camp’s mission is to give students a community that helps them cultivate their own unique creativity and discover the many possibilities for a career in their future. Designer Camp partners with non-profit organizations, allowing students to design for social good, and has partnerships with nationally recognized designers and brands, as well as sponsors including Glossier, Gulla Jonsdottir (Interior Designer & Architect), Show Me Your Mumu, and Philip Cuenco. The program partners with the outstanding design community within carefully chosen locations.
