About
The Tree House Children's Center structures its environment with hands-on learning centers where children take part in small, informal group learning and also work individually. Group time activities are offered several times a day, and children also use an outdoor classroom that includes areas for hands-on exploration and discovery, physical activity, dramatic play, and gardening. Children learn through discovery and adventure in both the indoor learning centers and the outdoor classroom spaces.
Treehouse states that its school philosophy is based on research that children learn and develop best through play in a hands-on environment. The program’s mission notes that it views human growth as a developmental process with physical, cognitive, social, and emotional components, and that there is a method in which all of these could and should be met. Treehouse also states that it prides itself on building strong authentic relationships between staff and each child.
