About

YMCA of Orange County Camps offers a variety of activities including Activity Clubs, sports, esports, swimming, STEM projects, adventure programs, arts and crafts, outdoor experiences, daily activities, team building, field trips, and fitness. The camps also include Inclusion Support, Service Learning, and other structured camp experiences for children and teens. The program offers spring, summer, and overnight camps, including resident “sleepaway” options at Camp Oakes and Camp E.L.K., both of which provide room and board, and resident camps that bring children of different backgrounds together for exploration and adventure.

YMCA of Orange County Camps is part of an organization with over 150 years of serving communities through health and wellness, child and youth development, swimming, sports, family programs, events, and more. The mission of the YMCA of Orange County is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Its purpose is to strengthen communities through programs committed to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility throughout Orange County, East San Gabriel Valley, Pomona Valley, and Riverside County. The camps include Inclusion and New Horizons programs that recognize the need for some participants to receive specialized services, care, and experiences, and the community programs are open to everyone.

The leadership team for YMCA of Orange County includes Jeff McBride (Chief Executive Officer), Dolores Daly (Chief Operations Officer), Christine Salas (Chief Administration Officer), and Anna Romiti (Chief Marketing and Communications Officer). Executive Directors include Amelya D’Alba (Mission Viejo Family YMCA), Jordan Garcia (Fullerton Family YMCA), Carol Kolarov (Laguna Niguel Family YMCA), and Kendra Crusco (Newport-Mesa Family YMCA). Additional leaders connected to camp and youth programs include Kaycee Martin and Dorain Cassell (Directors of Operations, Child & Youth Development), Michael Prange (Associate Executive Director, Adventure Guides), and Jim Emery (Associate Executive Director, Camp E.L.K.). The YMCA’s fitness facilities provide equipment, classes, and healthy living programs for a range of fitness levels and abilities.
