Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley offers activities such as an Outdoor Adventure program, the Intel Computer Clubhouse, and games like carpet ball, bumper pool, and air hockey. Members also spend time in the computer lab making RPG games and playing Runescape. The program operates at the Alamosa Clubhouse.

The organization’s mission is “To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens of a richly diverse world.” In 2024, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley reported an average daily attendance of 90, with 789 members and 31K member visits. The program uses tools such as the My ClubHUB Parent Portal and offers Alamosa Fifth-Day Programming, as well as an Outdoor Adventure program. One staff member brought experience from implementing a comprehensive K–12 Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program where every student received weekly SEL lessons at Crestone Charter School.

The leadership team includes Aaron Miltenberger, President Co-Executive Director of Resource Development and Community Engagement; Lola Garcia, Co-Executive Director of Operations and Programs; Adam Lopez, Operations Director; Garrett Marquez, Director of Compliance & Training; Cassidy Pacheco, Director of Trauma-Informed Services; Jonathan Hazard, Health Resource Navigator; Tyler Parsons, Finance Director; and Tamra Jaquez, Alamosa Unit Director. Mr. Miltenberger has over 25 years of experience in student and youth development programs and received his Master in Higher Education Administration and Leadership from Adams State University in 2012. Cassidy received her Masters in Social Work in 2021 and has extensive experience with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculums and behavior management. Tyler has a BS in Accounting from MSU Denver, a Master of Professional Accounting from CSU Global, and was a Senior Performance Auditor at the US Department of Justice, Office of the Inspector General.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley is described as one of the most well known youth organizations in the San Luis Valley. Within the organization, Jonathan Hazard provides Case Management support for BGCSLV families and communities. Tyler is described as having a deep love for the San Luis Valley and being passionate about serving the community, and Tamra is described as being excited to work with the community of Alamosa and deepen her roots with the San Luis Valley.

A program partner, Autumn McCalm, shared, “I've grown up so much since I came to the club 3 years ago. I've made a lot of friends and am now a junior staff member. I'm looking forward to continuing my time here at the club for the next few years until I go to college. The things I've learned here have definitely had a big impact on my life.”
