Apex Park and Recreation District Youth Programs are part of a larger recreation district that offers athletics, fitness, education, arts, and community events for all interests, ability levels, and ages. The programs are supported by more than a dozen facilities, a robust staff, a dynamic and energetic group of volunteers, and hundreds of youth sports teams. The district serves as a resource for athletic activities, events, classes, and family entertainment for people who live in its neighborhoods.

Apex Park and Recreation District was founded on November 13, 1956, as a special district. It is managed by an executive director and a five-member elected board of directors. Its mission is to enhance the health of the community socially, emotionally, and physically by being a gathering place and trusted resource for activities and programs that connect people and improve their quality of life. The district works collaboratively with other entities as a separate agency that is not connected to other government agencies and welcomes visitors from across the metro area and beyond to use its athletic fields and recreation facilities. The district envisions an integrated, diverse, and collaborative recreation district that contributes to the vibrancy, health, and happiness of community members through its offerings.
