About
Girls Mountain Biking Camp – Boulder focuses on mountain biking and trail riding in a girls-only environment. Campers work on bike skills such as practicing basic bike commands, bunny hops, track stands, braking, and shifting, and they also learn bicycle maintenance basics like safety checking their bikes, solving gear problems, changing flat tires, and properly fitting a helmet and bike. In addition to biking, the program includes team building along with paddling, rock climbing, hiking, and kayaking.
• Ages: 9–13 years old
• Schedule: One-week sessions, Monday–Friday
• Price: One Week Price $740; Early Drop Off - Starting at 8 AM $35; After Care - Pick up 3-5:30PM $105; Bike Rental $50; Avid4 Merch - Delivery at Camp Prices Vary (Tax Incl.)
The camp day runs from 9 AM to 3 PM, with extended care available from 8 AM to 5:30 PM. Campers are strongly encouraged to use their own tuned bikes that fit well and are appropriate for dirt trails, including hand brakes and wider tires, or they may rent a bike for an additional fee. To register, campers must be able to bike confidently without training wheels on a dirt surface, and if they do not meet this requirement, the program may move them to a different program if space is available or remove them from the group and offer a credit.
Girls Mountain Biking Camp – Boulder is part of Avid4 Adventure, whose mission states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that kids at Avid4 Adventure build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. The organization states that its adventures are carefully customized so they progress as campers’ comfort and skill levels grow, that it provides transportation to and from recreation areas, and that it transports campers to authentic local recreation areas they can keep coming back to explore. Avid4 Adventure also states that it teaches campers solid skills, including the basics of adventure sports and how to use sound judgment and problem-solving in all aspects of their lives, and that its programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17.
The program notes that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe but does not “pack them up in bubble wrap,” and instead gives them the knowledge and confidence to take calculated, well-communicated risks. Avid4 Adventure describes its staff as incredibly well-trained and professional, with committed, experienced instructors who are 18 and older and have serious safety and skills training. The leadership team includes Founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry.
Avid4 Adventure is a Certified B Corp committed to public transparency and accountability, runs highly acclaimed summer camps accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. The organization operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service. Parent testimonials describe this as a favorite camp where one child progressed from training wheels to riding without them, where staff are described as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion, and where campers are active every day and continue talking about camp and wanting to return.
