Rock Climbing Summer Camps teach campers climbing on some of the most iconic formations in the area and include a variety of routes and rock types. Campers are grouped by grade range, either 2nd–4th graders or 5th–7th graders, and there are no prerequisite skills or experience needed, but rock climbing campers should have a desire to climb and learn more about the sport. The camp is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which states that every Avid4 Adventure camp will provide an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence, and if these promises are not met, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free.
The program provides transportation to and from recreation areas and access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids, using professional-caliber equipment. Avid4 Adventure states that it organizes big adventures in beautiful recreation areas, transports campers to authentic local recreation areas they can keep coming back to explore, and teaches campers solid skills, including sound judgment and problem-solving. Its programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17, and it runs summer camps that it describes as top-notch and highly acclaimed.
Avid4 Adventure states that it believes in empowering kids of all ages from PreK–12 and believes in the transformative power of the outdoors, where kids build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. The organization reports that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe while allowing calculated, well-communicated risks, and that every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved, how to prevent them, and how to respond if something goes wrong. It will be hiring approximately 500 educators to provide authentic outdoor adventures across all of its camps.
According to Avid4 Adventure, its instructors are insatiable outdoors experts who love adventuring almost as much as they love working with kids, are adored by campers and their parents, are all 18 and older, and have serious safety and skills training. The leadership team is headed by David Secunda, former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry.
Avid4 Adventure is a Certified B Corp, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. It operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Parent testimonials describe Avid4 Adventure as a camp where one child learned to ride a bike without training wheels and discovered new favorite activities like stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, and biking, and where staff are described as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with children. Other parents report that their kids talk about camp more than a month later, look forward to returning the next year, and were active every day learning how to enjoy what Colorado has to offer.
