About the provider
The company says it is on a mission to get kids excited and empowered by outdoor adventure. David Secunda is the founder, and the source says he is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year vet of the outdoor education industry. Avid4 Adventure is a Certified B Corp, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and was named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps.
Avid4 Adventure says activities start with a discussion about risks and how to prevent and respond to them. The camp also describes a guarantee and says if it does not meet its promises, the next camp is on them. It says camp years are grouped by grade and age, and some programs offer extended care.
What families say
“This was our daughter's FAVORITE camp!! She had never done any of the activities and now Stand up paddle board, kayaking, and biking are her favorite. Before camp, she biked with training wheels (and only occasionally). During camp, she learned how to ride without training wheels! It took her two more park trips to completely be able to ride her bike. AVID taught her so much!” — Emily Medress September 2023
“You know it is a great camp, when your child is begging you to join them to see all the things she learned and did that day. Avid's staff is mature, responsible and excited to be sharing their passion with kiddos. It's a really well run program where your kiddo will learn new outdoor skills.” — Molly Marienthal September 2023
“My kids had THE BEST time at this camp. They still talk about it over a month later and can't wait to go back next year. I love that they were active every day and learning how to enjoy everything colorado has to offer!!” — Suzanne Dayton September 2023
