Tournaments are held every Wednesday, and the drill and skill portion of the day includes friendly competitions.
Batter Up Baseball’s Annual Membership Program gives every player in a family an annual pass to every week of Summer Camp, Fall Ball, Winter Program, and Spring Program. Batter Up began offering recruiting services to assist players in landing university scholarships, developing them from the early stages of T-ball and little league into competitive high school and university athletes. Batter Up Baseball is described as the largest youth baseball camp in Canada and has expanded to the United States, with camps now including Girls Softball Camps.
In the summer of 1996, Batter Up Baseball launched its first summer camps at Neilson Park in Scarborough, Ontario, and three years later expanded to winter programs, private instruction, and team camps at Dunmoore Park in Pickering, Ontario. After its 10th year, the baseball camps moved to Springfield Park in Mississauga, Ontario, and in 2019 the camps shifted to Birchwood Park in Mississauga and added a new location in Milton, Ontario along with Girls Softball Camps. In 2024, additional locations were added at Tom Chater Park in Mississauga and at two new locations in Glenwood Springs and Carbondale, Colorado.
The program’s stated mission is that Batter Up cares about developing better people, not just better players, and takes a “Kids First” approach so that players know their true worth lies in who they are, not how well they perform. Batter Up’s game-based approach includes highly-qualified coaches and lightly-controlled scrimmages. One player shared, “I’ve been coming here for years, and my favourite part is that we get to play baseball games every day!” and Mike Irving is listed as a contact person.
Batter Up teamed up with GameOnCamps.com for global outreach, and camps have been held in Africa, India, and Ukraine in baseball, hockey, soccer, and basketball.
