Castle Rock Dance Academy

Castle Rock Dance Academy offers classes in Ballet & Pointe, Partnering, Variations, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Acro, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, and Strength & Stretch. The program includes high quality dance instruction for all ages and abilities and a variety of classes for ages 3 and up. It is a performance-based studio with four performances in a traditional stage setting each year: Making Spirits Bright, The Nutcracker of Castle Rock, Spring Showcase, and a June recital.

• Schedule: Class options Monday–Thursday late afternoon to early evening, and Saturday morning

Castle Rock Dance Academy was founded in 2005 and is led by Owner/Director Maria Scheffel. The studio provides dance training from qualified, well-qualified, caring instructors in a positive, non-competitive environment. Its mission states that proper technique, excellence, and integrity are held to high standards, and that students learn etiquette, self-discipline, and skills they can carry with them through life while achieving personal goals. The mission also states that the studio focuses on building a long-lasting love for dance, building each individual’s self-esteem, and offering opportunities for leadership as dancers move through the program.

Castle Rock Dance Academy partners with local retirement communities, Douglas County Libraries, and the Town of Castle Rock to provide performance experiences. According to parent and student testimonials, families describe the teachers as sweet, patient, kind, and organized, and note that the studio is clean and well kept, with some students referring to the academy as a second family.
