Avid4 Adventure states that its instructors are all 18 and older with serious safety and skills training, and that instructors are the number one point of positive feedback from parents of campers. The leadership team is led by David Secunda, former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. The organization’s mission states that kids build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. Avid4 Adventure notes that it operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service and that its camps are accredited by the American Camp Association, are run as a Certified B Corp committed to public transparency and accountability, and have been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps.
The program groups campers by grade range, with 2nd–4th graders concentrating on getting comfortable with new activities and 5th–7th graders focusing on teamwork, mentorship, and deepening technical competence. Parents and campers meet staff at a consistent location daily, and Avid4 Adventure provides transportation for campers to local recreation areas for each day’s adventure sport. The camp states that it is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises an authentic outdoor adventure, professional staff, and increased confidence, and if these promises are not met, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. Top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids is provided, and campers can bring their own bikes or borrow from a fleet that accommodates campers of any size. The organization states that programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17, that it teaches campers solid skills along with judgment and problem-solving, and that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe while allowing calculated, well-communicated risks.
Parent testimonials describe this as a favorite camp where a camper learned to ride a bike without training wheels and discovered new favorite activities such as stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, and biking. Other parents report that their children wanted to share what they learned each day, describe the staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion, and say their kids were active every day and still talk about the camp weeks later.
