Adventure Camp – Central Park includes canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, stand up paddleboarding, hiking, and teambuilding activities. Campers practice flat-water paddling with a focus on equipment, safety, and basic skills, ride mountain bikes on local trails with attention to technique, safety, equipment, and basic maintenance, and play balance games and learn proper strokes and rescue techniques on stand up paddleboards. Hiking days include learning about local flora and fauna and Leave No Trace principles, and campers take part in teambuilding activities with their group.

A sample weekly schedule lists stand up paddleboarding on Monday, hiking on Tuesday, kayaking on Wednesday, biking on Thursday, and canoeing on Friday. Adventure Camp – Central Park is led by Avid4 instructors who are all 18 or older and described as incredibly well-trained and professional staff with serious safety and skills training, as well as a seasoned team of adventurers and educators who are outdoors experts and talented teachers able to connect with kids and encourage them to challenge themselves. The broader Avid4 Adventure program is guided by founder David Secunda, a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. Avid4 Adventure states a mission to give kids a love of outdoor activity, set them on a trajectory of lifelong outdoor adventure and stewardship, and build skills, confidence, grit, determination, and the ability to thrive in the outdoors while teaching caretaking of the planet.
