About
Altitude Youth Ultimate Camps and Clinics offers Ultimate Frisbee programs that include skills, drills, and mini games. The program runs summer camps, leagues, clinics, and tournaments, and also offers both youth and adult programs.
Altitude Ultimate was founded in 2014 and is a 501c3 non-profit organization. It is run by a volunteer board made up of experienced Ultimate Frisbee players and coaches, with a leadership team that includes Senior Operations Manager Mike Richard, Outreach Director and Altitude Ultimate Board Member Libby Cravens, and 2026 officers President Joe Durst, Vice President Libby Cravens, Secretary Zach Hochstadt, and Treasurer Chris Ward. Mike worked in education as a teacher and support staff for 10 years. Most camps are co-ed and are open to both new and experienced players, and participants only need running shoes or soccer-style cleats. Altitude Ultimate’s mission states that it is dedicated to developing athletes and promoting youth participation in Ultimate Frisbee teams, leagues, tournaments, camps, and clinics across the Front Range, Colorado, and the Rocky Mountain West, with a focus on equitable access and spirited play, supporting all levels of competition, and serving as a stable, sustainable organization for the regional ultimate community. All programs follow USA Ultimate’s Gender Inclusion Policy, and players are invited to play in the gender division that most closely aligns with their identity.
Altitude Youth Ultimate states that it seeks to create a welcoming environment where participants of all backgrounds and identities feel comfortable bringing their full selves to all events. The organization states that it aims to provide more access to Ultimate within racially and ethnically diverse communities and to raise awareness of DEI issues among members of its existing community. It also states that it will develop and foster partnerships within traditionally underrepresented communities so those communities can inform its practices, and that it will be transparent and accountable to all members of its community by soliciting feedback, empowering its EDI Task Force, building community partnerships, and showing how it is spending its funding.
