The mission of First Tee – Colorado Rocky Mountains is to educate and inspire youth academically, socially, and physically through the game of golf. The organization has programs for every age and skill level and creates positive experiences for children and young people from four years old through college. Goals include building trust with children, schools, and the community; providing alternatives to dropping out of school, drug use, teen pregnancy, gangs, and violence; enhancing participants’ self-esteem, building confidence, and promoting teamwork; continuing to be an efficient resource that uses existing partnerships for cost-effective operations; motivating participants to learn a new sport, have fun, and be healthy; never turning any child away for inability to pay; and having fun.

First Tee – Colorado Rocky Mountains is currently the largest First Tee chapter nationally out of nearly 160 chapters. In 2001, Denver Junior Golf served 200 children at one location, and due to that demand the First Tee chapter was started in 2002. In 2024 the organization served over 12,000 kids in 10 Colorado counties and continues to grow each year. Former Junior Golf Director David Kolquist is part of the leadership team. The organization earned a Guidestar Platinum Seal of Transparency and a 2022 Platinum Seal of Transparency.

First Tee – Colorado Rocky Mountains states that it enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges by integrating the game of golf with a life skills curriculum. It states that these learning experiences build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids carry to everything they do. The organization serves the community without regard to racial, cultural, sexual, or religious orientation or affiliation and strives to provide resources and opportunities for children, ultimately benefiting the community by helping to create good citizens. Please take all donations to Harvard Gulch or The PGA Tour Superstore.
