Durango Baseball and Softball offers the Durango Baseball 2026 Spring Season through the Durango League, with divisions that include 6U Tee Ball, 8U Coach Pitch, and 10U, 12U, and 15U Kid Pitch. The program also includes youth softball and the Durango Danger Invitational, along with team and individual photo days supported by youth sports photography.
• Ages: 5–15 years old
• Schedule: Registration for the Durango League opens December 15 and closes March 25, teams are organized in early April, players are contacted shortly after, and practices set by each team coach begin the week of April 13; the Durango Danger Invitational runs June 5–7, 2026
• Price: Durango Danger Invitational registration fees are $150 for 8U and $500 for 10U–14U
Durango Baseball and Softball is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that offers any young person the opportunity for character and skill development and aims to inspire a lifelong passion for the games of softball and baseball. The season is open to players of all abilities, and competitive and recreational players are combined on teams. Players are asked to arrive in full uniform and be photo-ready at their designated time for photo days, which are provided by A/M Photography, a company that specializes in youth sports photography and has been serving athletes and families throughout Southwest Colorado for decades.
Durango Baseball and Softball is led by a volunteer board that includes President Danny Simpson, Vice President Kyle Gibbons, Treasurer Tim Smith, Secretary Marquette Oppenhein, Durango School District Representative Masen Hibbeler, Travel Baseball Director Jordan Dimick, Umpire Director Scott Carbaugh, Field/Equipment Director Eric Hjermstad, Fundraising Director Lindsay Lubrant, and an Alpine Bank Representative in a voting position, with several director roles currently vacant. Durango Baseball & Softball holds monthly board meetings.
