Durango Gymnastics offers gymnastics classes, open gyms, birthday parties, an adult class, summer camps, private gymnastics lessons, and a competitive team. Gymnasts in the competitive program take part in regular season meets, the Colorado State Championships, and the Region 3 Championships.
• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: Registration for gymnastics classes opens the first Friday of each month for the following month’s classes, and competition season runs January through April; depending on level, practice runs 3–9 hours per week.
Durango Gymnastics is a program of Durango Parks and Recreation. The coaching staff is trained in the current skill progressions and safety standards of USA Gymnastics and attends training, conferences, and online courses to keep up with the latest techniques in gymnastics and coaching. The program offers both boys and girls competitive teams, with girls competing XCEL levels Bronze through Diamond, and boys competing XCEL levels Silver through Platinum and Developmental levels 7 through 10. The program includes imagination-filled preschool classes and more serious team practices. Durango Gymnastics states that it is dedicated to the success and confidence building of each child and strives to make each gymnastics experience the best it can be. DGA competes through the USAG program, and Ruben Mercado and Lily Burton are listed as contacts for the competitive program.
