Under Mast, the team reached the second round of the 2025 RMAC Tournament, appeared at the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic, and ranked among the top NCAA Division II teams in steals, turnovers forced, and turnover margin, while scoring 79.1 points per game. Three Skyhawks earned All-RMAC honors under his leadership. Before Fort Lewis, Mast was head coach at the University of Antelope Valley for five seasons with a 99–26 record, three Cal Pac regular-season championships, two conference tournament titles, three NAIA Tournament berths, and three Cal Pac Conference Coach of the Year awards. His previous roles included Associate Head Coach at Antelope Valley, Assistant Coach at California Institute of Technology, and work with Oregon Elite Basketball and Liberty High School. Mast and his program at Antelope Valley crowdfunded nearly $40,000, including a large donation from Chegg, to participate in the NAIA postseason.
