Camp Timberline is a Christian summer camp that focuses on sports and mountain adventure. Morning and evening devotions, along with prominent guest speakers, are part of the daily experience, with campers exploring God’s written word and discussing personal application and principles in the context of daily challenges.
Camp Timberline’s mission statement is to be the Best Christian summer camp, reaching and strengthening kids for Christ through sports and mountain adventure. The vision for Camp Timberline comes from Bill and Dana Darrough, whose dream was to start a youth ministry that combined God, mountain adventure, and sports in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. The Camp Timberline property was purchased in 1996, and the camp welcomed its first 250 campers in the summer of 1997; it now hosts nearly 2,000 campers every summer. Camp Timberline is described as the Best Christian sports camp and allows kids to grow at their own pace, without pressure, by meeting them where they are in their spiritual journey with love and acceptance. A detailed map is sent to all enrolled camp families in the spring.
