Coal Ridge Middle School Activities and Athletics includes award winning elective choices such as Art, Physical Education, Applied Technology, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Choir, Orchestra, Guitar, Spanish, Yearbook, and Health. Students also have access to traditional core classes that are rigorous and follow St. Vrain Valley School District’s curriculum guides, along with high level advanced core classes in both Math and Language Arts. Coal Ridge Middle School offers a wide variety of opportunities for students to participate in after school activities and athletics.

• Schedule: School office hours are 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with school hours from 7:45 a.m.–2:55 p.m.

Coal Ridge Middle School is the Home of the Red Hawks. The school’s mission statement describes it as a dynamic learning environment offering rigorous and engaging courses where every child is cared for, celebrated, and encouraged to explore their strengths and passions. Coal Ridge has a wide variety of student support programs for English Language Learners, students with Autism, and students on Individualized Education Plans, and also offers other classes to support students in reading, writing, and math. Music programs at Coal Ridge are described as award winning elective choices that allow students to develop a life long love for music, and the school is building a Career and Technical Education pipeline to support technology pathways in high school and beyond. The leadership team includes Principal Natalee Swan and Assistant Principal Alexis Donaldson.
