Foundational Skills Camps is Challenger Sports’ most popular program and is aimed at players aged 6–12 who are looking to improve technical skills whilst experiencing a unique cultural component. Players work on technical foundational skills in a fun and safe environment, and each curriculum is created to maximize ball contact and learning opportunities. In addition to serious coaching, the camp weaves in cultural education and uses soccer to teach responsibility, respect, sportsmanship, kindness, and perseverance as part of The Challenger Way. This camp also includes an extended day bonus option called Overtime.

All of Challenger’s camps are staffed by a team of international coaches who are selected and trained specifically to give each child the best possible camp experience, and Challenger incorporates coaching methodologies from around the world. Challenger Sports has positively impacted more than one million children globally since 1985 and originated as a British-led soccer camp business in North America. The organization continues to run programs across North America for players of all ages and ability levels, and its mission is to ignite the passion. Moving forward, the leadership team consists of Daniel Miller, Grant Hall, Ben Beer, Lauren Wymore, Alex Green, Linda Shoare, Anthony Riley, and Rob Herringer.

For equipment and logistics, if a camp package includes a ball, it is given out at the first session and campers are asked to bring it each day along with plenty of water. If a package does not include a ball or if families are unsure, campers are asked to bring a ball on the first day. The program recommends applying sunblock before camp and sending additional sunblock if a child is there for a longer period of time. Shin guards are required for all children attending camp for at least 3 hours or who are 6 years of age or older. For outdoor camps, cleats may be worn but are not mandatory, and athletic clothing and shoes are recommended.
