Gold Crown Foundation Youth Sports and Enrichment Programs offers activities that include basketball, volleyball, flag football, golf, hockey, football, and Stem +Art Camps. The programs also include mindfulness, stretching, yoga, and nutrition activities as part of their offerings.

Gold Crown Foundation was founded in 1986 and began its youth competitive basketball league in 1994. Over the years it has added programs such as the Gold Crown Jr. Golf Association in 1999, a girls volleyball league in 2000, and Gold Crown Enrichment in 2003. The organization reports more than 16,000 participants, 1,600 volunteers, and 40 program offerings throughout the year, and assigns more than 15,000 basketball games annually through its officiating program. Gold Crown Enrichment is a free, drop-in program that operates throughout the year and has seen more than 6,000 youth come through its doors since 2004, with more than 500 active members and 20 mentors.

The Health Huddle, launched in 2019, focuses on the overall physical and mental health of youth with specific attention to mental health, healthy habits, and sports performance, and includes the free Healthy Kids Expo, which began in 2022 and draws around 800 youth and their families. Gold Crown Foundation offers free facility use to several community partners, including Special Olympics Colorado, National Sports Center for the Disabled, Jeffco Adaptive Athletics, Easter Seals, Colorado Wheelchair Basketball, and Adam’s Camp. The foundation provides nearly $900,000 each year in subsidized program fees and is a LiveBarn Venue where games can be watched live or on-demand, and it is My Spark eligible for Denver Public Schools families.

Gold Crown Enrichment is one of 100 members of the Computer Clubhouse network, located in 20 countries, and has hosted the National Clubhouse Conference with over 200 participants from 20 countries. The foundation has partnered with Positive Coaching Alliance to host an Educational Coaching Seminar at the University of Denver for over 1,500 coaches and has hosted the NWBA Championships in partnership with the National Wheelchair Basketball Association. The mission of Gold Crown Foundation is to “prepare kids for the game of life,” inside and outside of the classroom and on and off the court.

The leadership team includes Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Bill Hanzlik and Executive Director Kevin Petty. Other leadership roles include Impacts Director, Director of Finance, Development Director, Marketing Director, Partnership Development Manager, Digital Marketing and Grants Manager, multiple Sports Operations and Sports Program Directors, Facilities leadership, and Enrichment leadership including an Enrichment Director, Enrichment Innovation Director, Mentor Coordinators, and an Assistant Clubhouse Coordinator.
