About
Colorado Farm Camp includes Farm Camp, Horse Camp, and Farm Construction Camp, with activities that focus on learning where food comes from and how plants and farm animals help people. Campers take part in plants and planting, making jelly, taking care of farm animals, and themed days such as goat day, sheep day, llama and alpaca day, horse day, and chicken and turkey day. Activities also include riding ponies, taking a hay ride, learning about small and large tractors, helping shear a sheep, collecting eggs, and learning horse topics such as Horse Safety, Horse thinking, Horse Care Basics, Horse Tack, Horse Lingo, How to Ride a Horse, and Different Styles of Horseback Riding. In Farm Construction Camp, campers learn the basics of hand tools like measuring tapes and hammers, have supervised use of power drills and saws, and work on assembling sturdy planters and repairing fences. Medical information is required for registration.
