Specific themed activities include Star Wars Challenge, Engineering Challenge, Robot Challenge, Amusement Park Adventures Engineering, and stop-motion animation using LEGO bricks and animation software.
• Ages: 4–14 years old
According to its mission statement, Snapology of Boulder - Denver Metro provides year-round STEAM learning programs where instructors use fun, hands-on activities to teach Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. While children explore robotics, coding, and design challenges using LEGO bricks, K’Nex, and technology, they are building skills that will help them throughout school and their careers. Programs are based on research showing children learn best when actively designing, creating, and exploring.
The program uses LEGO bricks, K’Nex, and technology for hands-on learning and offers a Discovery Center with indoor play areas, building toys, and interactive play areas, along with regular creative play hours where kids can be dropped off or parents can stay and play at no charge. Kids 5 and older can explore the Discovery Center on their own, while younger children require a parent. Adults are not charged to play in the Discovery Center. Snapology brings all the instructional and educational toys needed to host STEAM programs, camps, and parties. Programs support children of all abilities, including gifted learners, traditional students, and those with special needs such as sensory sensitivities or autism spectrum considerations. Everything offered through Snapology is available in one app that families can use to discover, book, and track classes, camps, and parties.
Snapology of Boulder - Denver Metro offers programs throughout the community in places such as community centers, schools, and other public spaces. It also provides Girl Scout and Scouts BSA activities, including a dedicated Snapologist to teach Scout groups as they work in pairs to promote team building. The program helps Girl Scouts work toward specific STEM badges for Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes, and offers a Snapology STEM/STEAM patch for Scout groups that complete programs, with patches available at an additional cost. It helps Scouts BSA participants work toward badges, pins, and awards.
Parent feedback includes comments such as, “My 6 year old son is loving summer camp here! The activities are wonderful and stem focused, there are many activities that they will not be bored. The owner and instructor are amazing too,” from Colleen Vorees. Nancy Farina describes it as “Wonderful entertainment for children!” Stephanie Wetzel says, “We love Snapology…great events and staff, we love parent night outs and playing on rainy days!”
