About

Wild Beginnings Nature School is a completely outdoor, nature-immersed program where children sing songs, experiment in nature, create art, go on hikes, climb trees, make shelters, build dens, and explore the water. The program includes Caregiver and Me classes (Nature Babies and Nature Explorers), half-day drop-off programs (Saplings and Pathfinders), and a summer camp half-day drop-off program, all held without a physical classroom and with guided and structured, but child-led activities.

• Ages: 0–10 years old
• Price: As a single income family, we have found the tuition to be very reasonable as well.

Wild Beginnings Nature School serves families in Idaho (Eagle, Boise, Nampa, Star) and Colorado (Wheat Ridge). The program’s stated mission is to be a completely outdoor nature-immersed program for children ages 0–10 years old. The leadership team includes Karyssa as the owner and Miss Staci and Miss Kate as teachers. Families describe classes such as Nature Babies and Caregiver and Me as chances for babies and toddlers to socialize, experience sensory play, and participate in open-ended activities like singing songs, nature experiments, art, and hikes. Parents and grandparents report that teachers are engaging, patient, and creative, and mention specific elements like “nature friends” skunk puppets, conversations about animals and local flora and fauna, and activities that include counting, recall, problem solving, sounds, shapes, colors, and measurements. Multiple caregivers note that their children look forward to outdoor adventures each week, talk about not wanting to go home after class, and ask regularly to go to Nature School. Several families mention feeling a sense of community among caregivers and appreciation for regular updates and additional activities planned by the school. The program invites families to grab their outdoor gear and come explore.
