YMCA of Greater Hartford Swim Lessons offers lessons, open swim time, and both private and semi-private swimming lessons in indoor pools. The program is part of a broader aquatics offering that also includes aqua fitness, water aerobics, aquatic exercise programs for all fitness levels, and competitive swimming programs and teams. Participants at the same facilities also have access to activities such as group exercise classes, strength training classes, rock climbing classes, rock climbing open climb hours, a badminton tournament, and crochet and knitting clubs.

The YMCA of Greater Hartford states that it is a charitable association open to all and committed to helping people develop their fullest potential in spirit, mind and body. The organization includes 10 branches and two overnight camps that provide programs and services in 52 towns in Hartford, Tolland, and Windham counties. Aquatics programming at these locations also includes American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Programs, and some fitness activities are led by Certified Personal Trainers.
