The program also includes age-appropriate workshops and skills as part of its soccer activities. All DCFC programs are held within walking distance of public transportation.

• Price: DCFC is a 100% free-to-play youth soccer club. DCFC is DC’s first and only fully-funded 100% free-to-play youth travel soccer club. A similar pay-to-play youth soccer club would cost between $3,000–$5,000 annually in the region. All DCFC programs are free of charge.

In 2019, Open Goal Project launched District of Columbia Football Club (DCFC). Programs are coached by culturally competent, bilingual leaders, and include professional coaches and community mentors. Open Goal Project is dedicated to empowering the community through 100% free-to-play soccer programming and uses soccer as a vehicle for holistic youth development with a focus on positive youth development and upward social mobility. Open Goal Project empowers young players from low-income families and talented players from marginalized communities and low-income families, and focuses on supporting and empowering youth with age-appropriate workshops and skills for the short, medium, and long term. DCFC teams compete against pay-to-play clubs from across the Mid-Atlantic region. Open Goal Project is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, and its leadership team includes Simon (Founder) and Amir (Founder).
