First Tee – Greater Washington, DC offers youth golf activities that integrate the game of golf with a life skills curriculum. The program uses golf-based personal growth programs for kids and teens and is described as more than a sports program for kids and teens.

First Tee – Greater Washington, DC is a youth development organization that enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By integrating golf with a life skills curriculum, the program creates active learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids can carry to everything they do. The organization notes that it is building “Game Changers” by empowering kids and teens through golf, and it reports seeing kids build life and leadership skills that affect school, friendships, and eventually careers. FIRST TEE – Greater Washington, DC celebrates its 25th anniversary. The chapter has signed a second consecutive one-year sponsorship agreement with Marcus Byrd, a professional golfer and chapter alum.
