About
playDCgolf Academy Junior Programs include golf activities such as 9-hole and 18-hole golf, driving range practice, mini golf, and foot golf. The programs also offer private, semi-private, and group golf lessons, junior golf programs, golf leagues, Spring Break golf camps, Summer golf camps, and the Operation 36 beginner golf program. The Operation 36 program teaches golf in reverse, starting 25 yards from the center of the green and progressing through 6 levels until participants can shoot 36 from the full tee box.
• Schedule: Winter Season Private Lesson Packages are available from November 1 through March 31, Operation 36 offers an 8-week or 1-day crash course option, and supervised practices to make up for a missed class are held Wednesdays at 6:30 PM and Sundays at 1 PM.
The playDCgolf Academy, formerly GolfDC Academy and Capital City Golf School, was founded in 1989, and over 4,500 students are enrolled annually at its three locations in the Washington Metro area. The Academy offers both adult and junior private and semi-private lessons and a wide variety of junior programs throughout the year, including Spring Break and Summer camps, private and group lessons, and leagues. The Academy has a wide variety of clubs available for all age groups to use during lessons, range balls and other balls are provided by the instructor during lessons, and there is no strict dress code, so participants may come as they feel most comfortable. The Academy’s mission is to develop and serve life-long golfers of all ages and abilities by encouraging students to learn, practice, and play in an environment that makes experiencing the game of golf fast, easy, and fun. The National Links Trust reinvests 100% of the money spent at Rock Creek Park Golf, Langston Golf Course, and East Potomac Golf Links into these historic courses and its mission, and the Academy spearheads programs that meet local community needs at each location to support the growth of the game.
