• Schedule: The season runs from the beginning of April until mid-June with an average of 15 games, with additional winter indoor and fall training sessions.
Senators Satchel Paige Little League was founded in 1996 and has been servicing Ward 5 and portions of Ward 4 communities since 1996 by providing community based baseball for boys and girls ages 4 to 18. The league is a non-profit organization with geographical jurisdictions in Ward 5 and portions of Ward 4 and is a chartered member of Little League International. The program provides pre-season coaches and player training and several weeks of umpire training, and dedicated board members volunteer all year. Teams are selected through a voting system that accounts for players' performance every game, and players that assess at higher skill levels are allowed to play up one age level. The all-star selection process states there is no room for politics, and teams are sent to state and regional competitions and potentially to the Little League World Series. The mission statement says the league was founded with the intention to provide a safe, fun and competitive place for youth to play baseball and grow into young men and women with a strong sense of community, to provide a family oriented program that demonstrates the ideals of good sportsmanship, character, teamwork, courage and respect, to insure every player regardless of ability has a great experience, and that Senators Satchel Paige Little League prides itself on providing competitive, but fair play. The 2026 Winter Indoor Clinic starts Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10:00am, and the 2025 Fall Baseball & Softball Training practices start Monday, September 8, 2025 at 6:00pm.
