About
Senators Satchel Paige Little League offers baseball and softball, along with Winter Indoor Clinic and Winter Indoor Camp. The program also includes Fall Baseball & Softball Training, Girls Winter Indoor Softball Training, umpire training, and pre-season coaches and player training.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: The main season runs from the beginning of April until mid-June with an average of 15 games, and there are additional winter indoor clinics and camps and fall baseball and softball training sessions.
Senators Satchel Paige Little League is a non-profit organization and a chartered member of Little League International. The league was founded in 1996 and has been providing community-based baseball for boys and girls ages 4 to 18 since then. The organization states that it provides youth with a safe, fun and family oriented program that demonstrates the ideals of good sportsmanship, character, teamwork, courage and respect, and that its program insures every player regardless of ability to have a great experience. All players are included in the batting order, and fair play rules are used so that all players receive equal playing time. Players who assess at higher skill levels are allowed to play up one age level. Several weeks of umpire training are provided, and dedicated board members volunteer all year. Post-season play continues into the summer, and teams may play through state and regional competitions and then to the Little League World Series. Teams are selected through a voting system that accounts for players’ performance every game, and the organization states that its all-star selection process has no room for politics.
