Urban Adventure Squad offers neighborhood-based, hands-on learning programs that focus on the outdoors and use the city as a classroom. The program includes cross-curricular, standards-aligned activities relating to science, history, math, art, engineering, and writing, along with field trips, in-classroom activities, geocaching, Squad waterway cleanup, environmental justice with middle schoolers, and birthday adventures. It also offers activities that can be used in the classroom or at home, as well as full-day programs during out-of-school time on professional development days, federal holidays, and school breaks.

Urban Adventure Squad is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(3) non-profit education organization that supports schools and communities with neighborhood-based, hands-on learning programs that focus on the outdoors and use the city as a classroom. It partners with schools, other non-profit organizations, and community groups to connect students to their neighborhoods and to train teachers in outdoor learning. The organization offers teacher training in outdoor learning and provides resources such as Ten Things to Do Outdoors in DC!, Guide to Outdoor Learning, Black History in D.C., Outdoor Learning Ideas, and D.C.'s Waterways activities, as well as geocaching through Go PLAY! (Find Our Geocaches) and Squad Waterway Cleanup. Urban Adventure Squad offers special programs for various age groups such as pre-teens, retirees, and children in pre-K, and also offers activities for partners or spouses and children during conferences, family reunions, or birthday adventures. It is recognized as a 2025 “trusted and critical small nonprofit in the Greater Washington region” by SpurLocal (formerly Catalogue for Philanthropy).
