About

The Apopka Youth Public Safety Academy includes daily physical conditioning, hands-on scenarios, and field trips. Participants take part in activities such as SWAT, Fire Suppression, Crime Scene Investigations, Vehicle Extractions, Police K9, Jail Tour, and High Angle Rescues. Transportation is provided to students during the day for field trips in city vehicles.

• Ages: 14–18 years old
• Schedule: Camp day runs from 8:30 AM to 4 PM
• Price: Camp is $150 per participant, including two camp t-shirts, water bottles, lunch, and field trip fees

The program is intended to give local youth who are interested in public safety a better understanding of police, fire, and emergency medical services in the community, while offering an opportunity to explore possible career choices. It is designed for high school students interested in law enforcement or firefighting/EMS/paramedic as a career. Due to popular demand, families who have already participated are asked to allow new Apopka families to participate. The Youth Academy Coordinator is Sergeant Creaser.
