Huntington Learning Center offers individualized tutoring and test prep in-center and online in math, reading, writing, and science for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The program also offers test preparation for PSAT, ACT, SAT, high school entrance exams, AP exams, state tests, ASVAB, GED, and other exams. Each student completes a Comprehensive Academic Evaluation, and Huntington Learning Center then creates a Personalized Tutoring Plan based on that evaluation.

Huntington Learning Center’s mission is to give every student the best education possible and to build skills, confidence, and motivation through personalized instruction tailored to each student’s needs. The program uses an ongoing feedback system and progress reports for parents. Huntington Learning Center reports average tutoring results of more than 2 grade levels improvement in reading and math, an average ACT score increase of more than 5.4 points, and an average SAT score increase of more than 229 points. The program offers Summer Programs, including Summer Reading Adventure and Summer Tutoring, and provides specialties such as ADHD tutoring, study skills, and homeschool tutoring.
Huntington Learning Center was founded in 1977, when Dr. Raymond and Eileen Huntington opened the first center in River Edge, New Jersey, and it is described as the first tutoring provider in its industry. For nearly five decades, it has provided tutoring and test prep programs and remains a family-owned company with executives involved in day-to-day operations. Their daughter, Anne Huntington Sharma, is President and CEO. Huntington Learning Center launched a web-based learning management system in 2013 and introduced the HuntingtonHelps LIVE online tutoring and test prep platform in 2020.
Huntington Learning Center’s certified tutors are experienced in all academic subjects. The organization earned accreditation by the Middle States Association in 1995. In 2005, Eileen and Ray Huntington received the Education Industry Association’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Award for “courage, perseverance, and determination to improve educational opportunities for children.”
Huntington Learning Center established Public Private Partnerships to provide high-dosage tutoring through state scholarship grants in partnership with schools. It provides specialized school programs and government-funded high-dosage tutoring that serve schools and juvenile justice systems.
Parent feedback includes comments that tutors provide positive reinforcement, practical tips and tricks for raising ACT scores, and show patience and understanding of individual learning styles. One parent described a “wide variety” of services that “hone in on weak areas” and are “easy to get to.”
