West Florida Flames Soccer Programs offers recreational soccer, competitive soccer, adult soccer, an MLS NEXT Academy boys program, and a Girls Academy. The program includes options for both youth players and adults across these different soccer formats.
West Florida Flames Soccer Programs was founded in 1975 and is celebrating 50 years from 1975 to 2025. It is one of the largest youth soccer organizations in the state of Florida and in the southeastern United States, with over 12,000 members and 5,000 players across the Tampa Bay area. The organization offers recreational, competitive, and adult soccer programs, including MLS NEXT for boys and the Girls Academy, and states that every player at West Florida Flames finds a home to grow, compete, and thrive, with values of passion, respect, leadership, empathy, and unity. West Florida Flames is dedicated to providing a positive and rewarding soccer experience for players of all ages and abilities and is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization registered in the State of Florida. The organization states a commitment to community, culture, and excellence, and describes its programming as modern and inclusive, teaching both soccer and life skills in a safe, empowering environment.
The leadership team includes Executive Director Gary Rach, Chief Operating Officer Eric Sims, Club Technical Director and MLS NEXT Academy Director Evan Sutherland, East Lake Campus Director Matt Algate, East Lake Campus Girls Program Director Dani Dayani, Brandon Campus Recreational Director Rocco Pecora, East Lake Campus Recreational Director Frank Coorey, Girls Academy Director Brenda van Stralen, Director of Goalkeeping Sergio Rapuano, and WFF Board of Directors members Greg Egan, Marc Jourdain, Amy McLane, Joanne Quinn, Victoria Tarantino, and Jamie Sullivan. Additional staff roles include Office Manager Terry Gillan, Club Registrar Melissa Howard, Tournament Director and Board member Joanne Quinn, Community Outreach & Sponsorship Director and Chief Operating Officer Eric Sims, and Media Coordinator Eliana Zavala.
