Scouting America South Florida Council Youth Programs include camping, training sessions, aquatic activities, summer programs, and day camp experiences. The programs also involve popcorn sales, camp card sales, and other fundraising activities as part of the youth experience.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Tatham Scout Service Center has office hours Monday–Friday from 10am to 3pm, with additional times available by appointment, and the Miami Scout Shop “37 Degrees North” is open Monday from 10:00am to 8:00pm, Tuesday–Saturday from 10:00am to 6:00pm, and closed on Sunday.
The South Florida Council is the local chapter of Scouting America and was founded in 1911. The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The South Florida Council offers year-round programs created to develop character, citizenship, leadership, life skills, and fitness in youth. The programs of the South Florida Council annually impact more than 20,000 youth and their families and serve youth in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties, and, beginning in 2025, Scouting America members living outside of the USA in North and South America through Direct Service. Camp Elmore serves more than 8,000 Scouts and families annually, and Camp Sawyer serves more than 3,500 Scouts and families annually.
