About
Camp La Llanada offers activities such as kayaks, snorkeling, fishing, Corcls, Hydroslide, crafts, a kitchen room, Experiment Cubes, music and dance, bow and arrow, Gagaball, sports, and camp games. The program is 100% in Spanish, and all counselors speak English if needed. The lake is the most popular activity area, and it has different levels, with the main area reaching below the knees, and it always has lifeguards and plenty of supervision.
• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: Day camp, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm
Camp La Llanada includes all lunches and snacks with a balanced, homemade menu, and particular allergies such as lactose, gluten, or nuts are attended to. The program focuses on keeping campers hydrated, using sunscreen protection, and providing cool, shaded spaces, and has a Plan B ready in case of heavy rain or storms to move activities to covered spaces. Each group is assigned to a member of the #StaffLlanada who is trained in group management and day camp activities. The program’s stated purpose is to create experiences that stay #ForEver with campers, with experiences intentionally designed as part of the Camper’s Journey™, and it emphasizes fun, contact with nature, and friendship as #LlanadaValues. The main focus is that campers give their #FirstStepsAsCampers.
Families are asked to send campers dressed in summer clothes, socks, and sneakers, wearing clothes that can get dirty or lost, and it is suggested that campers arrive already wearing a bathing suit, with a one-piece suit for girls. All items must be labeled with the camper’s first and last name. Campers should bring a daily bag with a water shirt, towel, poncho or raincoat, water sandals or Crocs, a cap or hat, one change of clothes, sunscreen in addition to what is applied before leaving home, and one large water bottle. Campers must eat breakfast before arriving at camp.
