About
Delray Beach Playhouse Arts Academy offers activities that include Off-Broadway Plays, comedies, musicals, cabaret, tribute concerts, concerts, comedy shows, and main stage plays. The program also includes children’s theater productions, children’s theatrical productions, a Best of Broadway Cabaret Series, the Nostalgia Concert Series: Feelin’ Groovy, Lunch Box Matinee events, the Playhouse Playwrights’ Project & Art Poster Competition, and seasonal options such as Summer Camp, Broadway Camp, and Summer Fun Camp.
• Schedule: Hours Monday–Friday 10:00am–4:00pm; for the 2025/2026 season, Lunch Box Matinee lunches start at 12:00pm and the show or presentation starts at 1:00pm
• Price: When tickets are purchased for a Lunch Box Matinee, the price includes both the ticket and the lunch
The Delray Beach Playhouse is described as one of the most outstanding and oldest non-profit community theaters in South Florida and is home to Off-Broadway plays, comedies, musicals, cabaret, tribute concerts, children’s theatrical productions, and more. It has thousands of members, hundreds of actors and volunteers, and offers live theater for all ages. Lunch Box Matinees are presented in the Cabaret Theatre with tables set up for four people, and all Lunch Box Matinees are catered by TooJay’s restaurant. Each Lunch Box Matinee lunch option includes one sandwich on seedless rye bread, one side of coleslaw, one pickle, one black & white cookie, and one bottled water, with a salad option that does not include a pickle or coleslaw, and a veggie wrap option on a whole wheat wrap. For Lunch Box Matinees, families select one lunch per ticket from the menu options, and if bottled water is not wanted, it may be substituted with Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, or Ginger Ale by noting the choice in the remarks section at checkout. Select performances allow the option to purchase a TooJay’s boxed lunch for an additional charge. Families can also volunteer at Delray Beach Playhouse and volunteer specifically for camp.
