Englewood Sailing Association Youth Sailing Programs include small boat sailing, summer camps, fall youth sailing, spring youth sailing, and youth racing. The programs also connect with other activities at the association such as the Lemon Drop Regatta, safety boat training, and coastal cruising.
• Ages: 9–18 years old
• Schedule: Youth sailing sessions include Novice Youth Sailing on three Saturdays in February from 11 AM to 3 PM, with Spring Youth Sailing and Spring Youth Racing starting in March from 11 AM to 3 PM.
• Price: Adult sailing membership for 2026 is $200 per year per family, and Adult Learn to Sail from March 2–5 costs $300.
Englewood Sailing Association has been teaching small boat sailing on Lemon Bay since 2002. The organization is an all-volunteer, non-profit, member-based organization with a mission of building confidence, character, and community through sailing. Programs follow US Sailing's "Learn Sailing Right" curriculum, and graduates of fall and spring beginning sailing programs can earn certification through US Sailing's "Little Red Book" program. The association is a proud partner of US Sailing, the official governing body for small-boat sailing, and uses US Sailing-certified instructors. Safety on and off the water is listed as the number one priority, and every time sailors are on the water there is at least one safety boat operating with a skipper and a crew member. Every year over 150 people from Sarasota and Charlotte Counties and beyond learn to sail with Englewood Sailing Association, which also nurtures partnerships with the local community and teaches respect for the environment.
