Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County Youth Development Programs include after-school and summer activities, academic enrichment programs, and targeted dropout prevention initiatives. The program offers college and career preparedness workshops, community service and volunteerism, leadership development programs, and events and activities that celebrate cultural heritage. Participants have access to daily snacks and hot meals, fitness programs, sports leagues, nutrition education, support for building healthy relationships and reducing stress, skill-building workshops, career exploration activities, hands-on internships and mentorships, financial literacy training, swimming lessons, and meal programs.
The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County is to enable all young people, especially those who need the programs most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Since 1965, Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County has served as a cornerstone of the Broward County community. The programs focus on academic success, leadership development, and healthy lifestyles, and are organized around four pillars of impact: Academic Success, Character & Leadership, Health & Well-being, and Life & Workforce Readiness. The Clubs are guidance-oriented to help young people develop a system of values related to family, community, and country, and they offer life-enhancing programs that build skills and character. The programs include daily snacks and hot meals to address food insecurity and support positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, understanding of healthy relationships, appreciation for the environment, and social and interpersonal skills. Clubs partner with youth, parents, schools, and other community stakeholders to implement academic enrichment and school engagement, targeted dropout prevention, and college and career preparedness, and they promote increased community service and volunteerism.
