Founded in 1975, the Alliance for the Arts has a long history of arts programming. Its mission is to transform lives and improve the community through the arts. The organization’s membership includes more than 50 area arts and cultural organizations and over 1,200 artists and individual members. It works with the Lee County School District to offer art opportunities for at-risk students and to identify scholarship recipients, and it provides free exhibition space for annual student exhibits and free audition space for the annual Young Artists Awards.
