Bolts & Bytes Maker Academy

Bolts & Bytes Maker Academy offers hands-on activities where students build robots, design with 3D printers, compete in Battle Bot arenas, craft custom skateboards in a woodshop, and take part in programs such as Coding for Inventors, Craft Chaos, Spy Tech Academy, and Inventor's Workshop. The program includes options like LEGO Engineering, Micro-Drone Racing Pilot School, Combat Robotics, Challenge Robotics, and a STEAM Lab, along with 3D Printing & Design, 3D Printing class, coding, robotics, electronics, and drones. Bolts & Bytes Maker Academy also offers Girls-Only Maker Camps and Girls Make Lab all-girls workshops, as well as after-school classes, weekend classes, day-time homeschool programs, and STEM Summer Camps that use real tools and technology in a fully featured educational makerspace that combines 3D printing, coding, robotics, electronics, and drones.

Bolts & Bytes Maker Academy describes itself as an educational makerspace where students can create, invent, tinker, explore, and build, and where they are actively working on projects and activities that interest and excite them. Its stated mission is to encourage students to learn critical 21st century skills in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) with programs that provide hands-on learning, help with critical thinking skills, and boost self-confidence, while guiding, encouraging, stimulating, and exciting students about their world and its possibilities, and lighting the spark of imagination. The program notes that its after-school and summer camp curriculum features imaginative, skill-building projects that lead up to larger, more adventurous creations, and that it offers small camp sizes, real tools and technology, hands-on maker adventures, a Micro-Drone Racing Pilot School with a custom-built indoor race course, and Combat Robotics in the Bolts & Bytes Battle Bot Arena, along with Girls-Only Maker Camps and Girls Make Lab all-girls workshops.

Bolts & Bytes Maker Academy was founded and is led by Reed Beaubouef, Founder & President of Bolts & Bytes Maker Academy, Inc. Reed Beaubouef is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, a former Director of online advertising products at web.com, and has educational training at the University of North Florida (UNF), and graduated from Fletcher High School in 1992.
