The Cummer Museum was established in 1958. Its mission is to create art, garden, and learning experiences that spark discovery and well-being. The Museum is supported in part by the Merit-Based Cultural Service Grant Program, administered by the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville with funding from the City of Jacksonville and elected officials. The Museum’s collection and gardens are described as an essential part of the creative and cultural fabric of Northeast Florida and beyond, a beacon of resilience, a committed steward of its natural environment, and a social hub that ignites surprise and fun.
