About
Key West Community Sailing Center Youth Sailing Programs include classes, camp, lessons, clinics, group sailing, and group sails. Youth can take part in periodic regattas, weekly Sunday afternoon races, and the annual “Round the Island Race,” along with special events and social activities at the pavilion and docks. The program also includes racing activities as part of its offerings.

• Schedule: Open to members seven days a week from dawn to dusk
Key West Community Sailing Center Youth Sailing Programs are part of a 501c3 nonprofit educational organization whose mission is to encourage and support sailing and sailing education, and to provide Sailing Center facilities for educational, recreational, and social use for the public. The organization serves the community through year-round educational and social programming for youth and adults, members, and the community, and it offers youth scholarships, equipment upgrades, facility improvements, and exciting events supported by contributions and Top Sponsors. Members may use a fleet of over 40 Center-owned boats, including monohulls, catamarans, and a variety of youth sailing boats ranging in size from kayaks and paddleboards to 16-foot Hobie Cats, which are maintained by volunteers. The leadership team includes Executive Director Ben Hermelin, Commodore Russ Vickers, Vice Commodore Dan Seaton, Secretariat Renaud Charrin, Governance Officer Ron Burd, Fleet Captain Birch Ohlinger, Dockmaster Mike Vickery, Membership Officer Demetria Danielides, Communications Officer Kim McGuire, Development Officer Jonathan Ingham, Officers at Large Kerry Batty, Camille Wiley, and Scott Tadlock, and two vacant roles for Treasurer and Volunteer Officer.
