Founded in 1960 as the Footlight Theatre Guild, the organization officially became a non-profit in 1962, was dedicated in 1969 as the Osceola County Art & Culture Center, renamed in the 1990s to Osceola Center for the Arts, and later to Osceola Arts in 2014. The mission of Osceola Arts is arts by providing affordable and accessible programs and facilities that encourage artistic expression in the diverse community it serves. Osceola Arts has been a cultural cornerstone in Central Florida since 1960, serves as a hub for local arts organizations, and offers an extensive outreach program in line with its mission to promote, cultivate, and foster interest and participation in the arts by providing affordable and accessible programs. The organization hosts over 240 events, provides a variety of arts programs, offers many accessible services for the theater-going experience, and notes that photos and videotaping of performances are prohibited, that box office and concessions open 1 hour prior to each performance, and that latecomers are escorted in by staff and may not be guaranteed reserved seats. Osceola Arts is currently closed for renovation while the Box Office remains open with limited hours.
